The main responsibility of our VP of Government Relations is to build and deepen VIDA’s engagement with policy makers and other regulatory stakeholders, helping shape the policy environment that VIDA faces and make positive contribution that would lead to VIDA’s business growth.

How do you know if you are a good fit?

  • You have at least 7 years of experience representing a large company or association before policy makers and regulatory stakeholders, preferably but not necessarily in the technology industry.

  • Understand technology issues in Indonesia, including cyber security, personal data protection, and financial services regulations; and/or a strong track record of engaging with the IT ministry and financial regulators.

  • Have a good track record of achieving meaningful changes to regulatory environment through public policy advocacy, and demonstrate the ability to influence, negotiate with and persuade others.

  • Able to dive deep into political, legislative and regulatory trends (both national and local level) that may impact VIDA; and be able to synthesize policy documents for internal and external need.

  • Have exceptional written and verbal communications skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

  • Have the ability to convince stakeholders about the merits of a public policy strategy.

  • A proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization (especially other regulatory functions such as legal, security, infrastructure, and PR).

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, being an independent self- starter that can use good judgment and resourcefulness to advance public policy priorities in the absence of clear guidance.

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a relevant discipline (Law, Economics, or IT).

  • Have a growth mindset – willing to try something new and different to get things done.

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow through on tasks, a self starter who thrive on autonomy when working towards a goal.

Outcome and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the egulatory compliance of VIDA’s CA and digital signature product group, including: (a) advising products and operations compliance; (b) managing licensing, regulatory approvals, and mandatory reporting to and audit from authorities, working closely with the Legal Counsel.

  • Developing and implementing government affairs campaigns that result in alignment of objective/interest among regulators, VIDA, and VIDA’s customers (other business and the public).

  • Increasing the awareness of government and public affairs stakeholders on VIDA value proposition, including VIDA’s stance on advancing data privacy and security.

  • Collaboration between VIDA, government and public affairs stakeholders on the importance of personal data protection.

  • Facilitating meetings between VIDA and key stakeholders, including senior government officials, regulators, industry associations and alliance partners to promote and advocate the company’s public policies.

  • Maintaining relationship and coordination with relevant industry associations, government institutions, and alliance partners that would lead to VIDA’s business growth.
